Flamingo Lagoon

Colourful entrance

They’ll draw your attention from the moment you enter the Flamingo Lagoon: the sizeable flock of American Flamingo’s. These magnificent animals undoubtedly steal the show with their bright-pink feathers and unusual group dynamics. However, the other residents do not care playing second fiddle and enjoy their life to the fullest.

Where the ring-tailed lemurs are king

Wander along the banks of the Flamingo Lagoon and walk among waddling ducks, get acquainted with the furry alpacas, and admire the acrobatics of the curious ring-tailed lemurs living on the two large lemur islands. The Flamingo Lagoon is the outdoor continent of Pantropica, but the covered walking route makes it possible to visit it in all weather conditions.

Animals in the Flamingo Lagoon

The large pond and banks of the Flamingo Lagoon house a variety of animals. If you can’t see them outside, take a look at the indoor accommodations.

Must-do: feed the ducks

The Flamingo Lagoon is also home to various ducks such as white call ducks, mandarin ducks, and tinged teals. You can often find them floating on the water. Yet, they also waddle frequently among the visitors in the hope of getting a handful of feed from you!

Did you know…

Flamingos are always standing on one leg. They minimise losing body heat by pulling up one leg. Doesn’t the other leg get too cold in the water? If that’s case, the animal shifts to the other leg.
